Volunteer Opportunities

We Need You

How can you share your talents or time ?

Below is a simple guide about volunteer opportunities with the T.C. Williams Band Program. Your kids do still need you even though they might not say so...

Attend the Band Booster meeting  | You can be in the know and have a voice in the decision-making process. Monthly meetings are at 7pm in the Band Room.

Become a Booster Official | Official positions are open to everyone. Officers are elected in the Spring.

Chaperone or Volunteer | Give your time at 1 or more band events. You can ride the bus to the event or follow the bus in your car.

Fundraising | For more details about fundraising opportunities, click here.

Hospitality  |  Arrange and provide meals and refreshments at band events. Contact Sharon Widmayer for more information.

Pictures & Videos | We need 1 or 2 volunteers to record videos and take photos at performances throughout the year.

Pit Crew | Load, unload, and move instruments and other equipment. Contact Jay Hernandez for more information.

Social Media & Web Page | Develop, monitor and update the bands' social media platforms. You may help with one or all of them: Website, Facebook, Twitter and newsletter.

Uniforms | Assist with fitting, hemming and sewing concert attire and marching band uniforms. Please contact Jill Warden for more information.

Marching Band  | From August to late October, the marching band performs and competes throughout the region.

Marching Band Camp Volunteers | Set up outdoor cooling station, provide drinks to marchers and take down (4 volunteers needed daily, 2 per AM & PM shift) during camp in August.

Color Guard Volunteers  | Assist with color guard equipment and flags.

Pit Crew | Load, unload and move large instruments and other equipment at home football game and competitions. Contact Jay Hernandez for details.
